Peachy Keene Clown

The original American Clown Academy began with a core group of amazing faculty members in 2011 at Camp O’Bannon in Newark, Ohio. Steve “Peachey Keene” Long was one of the integral people helping to shape the heart of what is now the ACA. Unfortunately, Peachey passed away in early 2018, and it shook the clown world to its core. A true giant in our industry had left some mighty big shoes to fill. Here at the ACA, we wanted to honor our friend in the best way we knew how. You see, Peachey was an amazing teacher and an incredibly wonderful performer. Jed and I knew that the best way to honor our dear friend was to create the Peachey Keene Memorial Scholarship Fund and Auction. The auction takes place on Friday evening at camp, and the funds raised go into the scholarship fund. Starting in 2019, we will choose TWO individuals each year to receive FULL tuition-paid scholarships to ACA in Peachey’s honor. This is the best way we could honor such an amazing individual.
